A few days ago my friend
ranjtheobscure and I were
chatting and he was extolling the benefits of bicycle commuting and
how it would help me lose more weight and increase my fitness. I
don’t disagree, but I have problems with bicycles because my back
injuries don’t let me sit in that position for long. So he suggested
a Sun recumbent trike, the EZ-3 ax to be exact.
I’ve been giving it bit of thought and I really like the idea. I get
outside more, I get exercise, I lose weight, I get fit… The only
challenges I see are the price of the trike, getting in enough shape
to make the trip in the first place and the change to
hollyqueen’s commute since I won’t be giving her rides. None
of these problems are insurmountable, but they take some thought. The
hardest one is getting in shape to make the commute by bike at all.
Do I go for it? Do I join the rank of pedal commuters? Hmmm…
