Noonhat

ahead full

I just returned to $work after enjoying a nice lunch with two people I had never met before. Last week on a blog I read about Noonhat, a social site where you enter a location and day wen you want to have lunch. The site picks random people who entered the same details and sends everyone an email informing us of our lunch partners for the day.

Today I had lunch with Julie and Kim at Mediterranean Kitchen. It was interesting because two of us are in the tech field, but one is a horticulturist who used to own her own business. Our interests seemed to coincide well enough to make conversation interesting but were varied enough that we had plenty to talk about. In fact, the only downside to lunch was the poor parking at the restaurant.

I'm already signed up for lunch with Noonhat again.

Interesting. LunchOClock for strangers. I might have to try it.

You should. After all we know that strangers have the best candy.

Hmm... I think I've been slacking then, I should start bringing candy on my Noonhat lunches!

I'm very glad to hear that your lunch went well! How did the morning coordination go?

Take care,

The coordination was pretty easy. One person didn't respond for a bit so I thought they weren't going to show, but they finally chimed in and joined us.

I looked at the circles on the map, which was a real help, and suggested a restaurant I liked that was in all three of them. My two companions both liked the suggestion so that's where we ate.

I've signed up for another lunch in a week.

It would be really neat if this were merged with (and, btw, maybe useful tool for selecting lunch site)... http://www.coverpop.com/wheeloflunch/
